From mid-November until when we finished work for Christmas we held the “12 days of Christmas” fundraiser. We held different events including raffles, auctions, games, quizzes, coffee mornings and bake sales with some extra special prizes kindly provided by our donors.
The first event was a raffle for 2 tickets to the pantomime ‘Rumpelstiltskin’ for December 6th, kindly donated by Dylan Thomas Little Theatre.
The second event was an auction for entry passes for 2 people at Chepstow Racecourse. This was a very popular prize.
The third event was a coffee and teacake morning with lattes, hot chocolates and toasted teacakes being served.
The fourth event was a quiz featuring pictures of Christmas trees from around the world. Entrants had to guess where the tree was. The person with the most correct answers won 4 cans of Double Dragon Ale, second place had 3 cans, third had 2 cans and fourth had 1, all of which were taken from the 24 cans kindly donated by Felinfoel Brewery with the remainder saved for future events.
The fifth event was an auction for 2 mountain boarding lessons courtesy of BRD Sports, Gower. There were quite a number of bids for this.
The sixth event was another coffee and teacake afternoon treat which was just as successful second time around.
The seventh and eighth events were both “guess the number of sweets in the jar” games, always a popular event.
The ninth event was a hoopla tournament. The joint winners of this shared a box of Maltesers.
